Cork-based couple have their sights set on the glamping market with a new small-build venture drawing on their combined craft and design skills. Project manager Tanya Rodgers and her husband, joiner Mark Rodgers, set up Irish Shepherd’s Huts last year in Castletownbere in West Cork, to bring the traditional shepherd’s hut to a new generation.
The pair had been developing the business since 2010 from their former home in Northwest England, after unintentionally finding a willing customer for a shepherd’s hut they had built for their own use.
Glamping is here to stay. A perfect blend of nature and luxury can get rid of many of the everyday fast paced stresses we put up with. However striking that balance of nature and luxury is key and that is where Irish Shepherd's Huts come in.
We all love the outdoors and understand its power in healing and helping alleviate stress. At Irish Shepherds Huts, we also understand the power of the 'little things', especially when trying to enjoy a stress-free weekend. Glamping allows anyone to sit by a babbling brook, dine under the stars or cozy around a fire, but this all becomes pointless if the food is burnt, you are cold and wet or bored. The balance of glamping is to find a balance and harmony between nature and home comforts and this becomes a lot easier in a beautifully made Irish Shepherds Huts.
